Rentiqly started in our own rental shop. We rent dog strollers and sell the things that go with them, and none of the software we tried could do both without a spreadsheet in the middle.
Why we built it.
Our shop rents strollers, and sells rain covers, mats and the odd stroller to someone who has tried one for a month and won't give it back. Every system we tried split that into two businesses: rentals here, retail there, and a spreadsheet for the cases in between. The basics we needed most were always on the next plan up.
So we built the software we wanted to use, and we run our own shop on it every day. When something is awkward at the counter on a Saturday, it's our problem first.
Rentiqly is built and hosted in the European Union, for shops that issue VAT invoices and answer to GDPR.

Each one is a decision in the product, not a slogan.
A thing you rent and a thing you sell can be the same thing.
One product, three modes. No duplicate SKUs, one cart, one payment.
A rental should be allowed to become a sale.
People rent to try. When they want to keep it, their rental fees should count.
Deliveries are not a premium feature.
Nor are barcode scanning, the counter, reports, coupons, deposits or a storefront. Core is a complete business.
A calendar that can double-book is a liability.
Availability is checked by the hour, with buffers, inside the database itself.
Your customers' money should go to you.
Payments land in your own Stripe account. We charge a subscription, not a percentage.
